Functions Summary:
Getting To Know The Interface
Before getting started, it's a good
idea to become familiar with some of the functions of
Caricature Studio 5.0 and how to access them.
Many of the program functions can be accessed from the main
toolbar or the file menu. Other functions are available
from panels that are anchored within the application window.
Panels can be turned off if desired. Below is a list of icons
found on the main toolbars and on the panels, followed by an
explanation of the toolbar menu options.

Toolbar Menus
File:
Open: Open the main
image.
Print: Print the
image.
Save: Save image.
Warning: overwrites original image! Use Save As (below) to save as
a new file.
Save As: Save image
with a different file name or as a different file type.
Email To Friend:
Send the current image to an email address.
Load Filter Plugins:
Load Adobe Photoshop ® compatible filters.
Exit: Exit the
program.
Attraction
Mode:
Save
Current: Adds current image to slideshow.
Open Folder: View
or remove images from slideshow.
Set Animation
Effect: Choose transition effect for slideshow
images
Set Scroll Speed:
Select length of time each image is shown
Launch: Launches
slideshow
Acquire
From Webcam:
Captures live webcam images
Open Camera
Captures: For use with 3rd party remote camera
applications.
Edit :
Undo: Undo
the last action.
Restore:
Restore original image. Any caricature effects or filters will be
lost.
Image Size:
Adjust the main image size.
Canvas
Size: Adjust to common photo print sizes
Rotate
Canvas: Rotate the main image. Does not effect clipart
images.
Mirror: Flips image
horizontally for printing heat transfers
Panels
Main: Top

Tools: Secondary
top toolbar
Caricaturize:
Caricature tools panel
Templates: Novelty
templates panel
Animate:
Animated GIF and SWF panel
Dialog: Insert talk
bubbles, thought bubbles and text boxes
Caricature
Putty: Drag
areas of the image.
Warp:
Pinch in or expand out areas of the image.
Twirl:
Twists the selected area of the image.
Comic Filter:
Applies the Comic Filter to image
View
Original: Original
image size.
Zoom In: Zoom in
for a larger preview.
Zoom Out: Zoom out
to reduce preview. Helpful if original image is larger than the
work area.
Fit To Window: Fit
image within program window.
Insert
Image: Insert
images from the Clipart directory, or add your own images.
Text: Insert text
anywhere on the image. You may choose font, size and color.
Effects
Various effects that
can be applied to images or text
Filters
The Filters menu
contains a variety of effects and enhancements that can be applied
to your image.
Tools
Chromakey: Calls
the chromakey tool.
Background: Changes
the background behind a keyed image.
Browse Templates
Online: Visit website to view additional novelty
templates.
Load Skin: Change
the styles and colors of the application.
Help
Caricature Studio
Help: Launches this Help file.
Video Tutorial:
Opens web-based video tutorial section.
Tool Tips: Enable
or diable the pop-ups that explain how to use functions.
About: Displays the
information screen that opens with the program.
Register:
Dialogue box to input registration information in order to unlock
all program features.
Check For Updates:
Check website for any crucial application updates or
patches.
