Novelty
Overlays
Creating funny parody magazine
covers and novelty photos is simple with Caricature Studio.
Transparent GIF or PNG graphic files can be "overlayed" as a layer
on top of your photo to create a variety of novelty images and fake
magazine covers.
- Open any photo.
- Select the Novelty
Overlays icon on the toolbar

- In the function window, your photo
will appear in thumbnail view with the overlay templates in
the Default folder. Choose the template you'd like to apply by
clicking the preview thumbnail.
- After choosing a thumbnail image,
your selection will display in the main window. You can adjust your
background image properties if desired by using the toolbar. Use
the toolbar to enlarge, shrink, rotate, and
adjust brightness, contrast and color hue.
To position your background image
behind the overlay, simply drag it to the desired position. You may
also resize by dragging the image from any corner. When finished,
click OK to return to the main application
window.
Important! Once you
are satisfied with the overlay and click OK to return to
the main application window, the background and overlay images
are merged into a single image. The independent layers will
no longer be editable.
- Remember that you can add custom
text to any magazine cover!
- For a great gag gift, print
the image on glossy 8"x10" photo paper and frame.
- If you're looking for a
particular theme, browse the Caricature Studio Store
for additional templates by selecting the Browse
Template Store link on the Templates Panel or from the
Tools menu.
