     Adding Text

You can insert text anywhere on your image! Enhance your photos with funny headlines, anecdotes, talk bubbles and text boxes. Caricature Studio can use any font installed in Windows. There are many free font sites from which you can download fonts suited for comics and cartoons, or any theme.

Some of our favorites are:

http://blambot.com  Excellent source for all types of comic book type fonts. Many are free!

http://www.1001freefonts.com  Huge collection of free fonts!

To insert text:

  1. Click the text button on the toolbar
  2. Select the font, size, color and style from the font dialogue box. If you can also apply a level of transparency if desired for a "watermark" effect. Click OK after choosing.

   3.  Enter your text in the input field. Click OK when finished.

Text Tips

Move or resize the text anywhere on the image by simply clicking and dragging.

You can use the Putty tool on text to create a "warped" look.

Text can be rotated.

Apply shadow to text by selecting Text Shadow under the Effects menu.

Delete text by selecting it and clicking the delete button on the toolbar.

You can insert text over any part of the image, including inserted clipart, but it is best used over white or light-colored areas. Caricature Studio includes text boxes, thought bubbles and talk bubbles on the Dialog panel. Simply click to insert.

Filters can be aplied to text layers, but it is not necessarily desirable, depending on the filter used. For best results, apply all effects and filters, save the image, then insert text.
